Applying to MOE for Exemption from Compulsory Education
As Primary Education in Singapore is compulsory, Singaporean homeschoolers intending to homeschool their children through primary school need to apply for exemption from compulsory education. This should be done the year before the child is due to enter Primary 1.

You will need to obtain the necessary forms from MOE and submit them to MOE, together with a write-up of your curriculum for P1 to P6. When writing your curriculum, keep in mind that your child will need to sit for the PSLE and the National Education Quiz. Applying for a Transitlink Bus/MRT Student Concession Card
Write to Transitlink explaining that you homeschool and give the date of birth and Birth Certificate number of your child. Attach a passport size photograph of your child and copies of the following documents:
- Certificate of Exemption from Compulsory Education
- Birth certificate of your child
- Parent's NRIC
Mail your application to TransitLink or hand in your application at any Card Replacement Office:

They will take about 3 working days to make your card. You collect your card from their main office at Maxwell Road.
Note: The child concession EZLink card that your child is using during the preschool years will expire on 30 April the year your child turns seven. So you have to apply for you student concession card before then.
